Dit is een interessant jaar voor de Golden Globes, met alle veranderingen in de leiding, de structuur en het stemorgaan van de afgelopen maanden. Zo werd De Hollywood Foreign Press Association – de groep van internationale journalisten die de awards sinds 1943 uitreikt – afgelopen zomer opgeheven. Toch stemden de 310 leden ook dit jaar mee voor de ceremonie.
